It is an evening of fantastic voices, wonderful music and big hearts: three financially and artistically successful AIDS galas have meanwhile established Deutsche Oper am Rhein’s co-operation with the German AIDS Foundation as one of the most important venues for this high-carat event, which admirably combines the acme of music enjoyment with a social mission. The 4th festive opera gala for the German AIDS Foundation in Düsseldorf Opernhaus will again unite internationally famous singers with the Duisburg Philharmonic under Axel Kober to offer a gala programme without expecting to be paid. The net profit is for the benefit of the German AIDS Foundation, which as the largest German AIDS help organization been supporting infected people throughout the country for more than twenty years with a thousand specific help projects and since 2000 has also been giving support of AIDS orphans, HIV positive pregant women and their families in the south of Africa. The 3rd Düsseldorf AIDS gala brought 162 000 Euros in donations.
