The second highlight of the jubilee weeks: Theater Duisburg, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Ballett am Rhein und the Duisburg Philharmonic open their doors and offer a glance behind the scenes of the century-old palatial edifice in the centre of town! From the stage through the basement and up to the attic a many-sided colourful surprise programme awaits you. Discover music, theatre and technical installations: with the big stage-technique show we present to you all the fascinating things that engineering can achieve in our house, which was regarded as one of the most up-to-date theatres in Europe when it was opened in 1912. There will be celebrations on the Opernplatz in front of the theatre also – an unforgettable day out for the whole family – admission free!
